Natural Details…

Found these sweet wooden pens on Etsy (link below).

What a sweet idea to order with the Bride & Grooms’s names and use for the guestbook or for notes on a wish tree or an advice book.

Nicole & Brent, The Alisal Guest Ranch

October 20th, 2011 by admin

This stunning wedding took place at The Alisal Guest Ranch’s Private Lake in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley just North of Santa Barbara, California.  The Bride ‘s smile was contagious and wouldn’t yours be if you were marrying your high school sweetheart?

Guests were delivered by Hay Wagon and Boots & Hats spun around the dance floor under the stars, marshmallow roasting out on the dock and 2 wedding cakes (one traditional and one a Danish tradition!) made for an amazing party.

      The Wedding “BOOTS!”                                                                                     Butterflies
                                                                              The Bridal Party!

These two were BEAMIMG
after the ceremony
can you tell?
The Alisal Guest Ranch does steak right, and branded them with the letter “C”!
The amazing Renae’s Bouquets provided stunning
color and barnwood boxes filled with succulents…
The lucky horseshoe was present throughout the wedding so it’s only fitting that photographer, Ely Roberts captured the bands nestled inside.
Congratulations Nicole & Brent!!!

Jessica & Nick Forcier, Firestone Vineyard & Winery

It’s not every day I show up to conduct a rehearsal and the Bride is carrying a bouquet of Broccoli florets.  This is just one of my favorite moments while working with Jessica and Nick to plan their Los Olivos wedding.  Sweet Monday Photography captured stunning images throughout the day and here is just a sampling.  Enjoy!

As g-r-e-e-n as it gets…

August 25th, 2011 by admin

A “Green” wedding can vary in meaning but for those who are looking for an affordable and truly remarkable location to exchange vows, this is as green as it gets, Eco-friendly green that is!

I had the pleasure of visiting the Spirit Pine Sanctuary this week and was struck by the raw beauty and unobstructed views from atop Figueroa Mountain in the Santa Ynez Valley. The Golden State views stretch across the valley to the Santa Rita Hills behind Santa Barbara to the ocean beyond Lompoc.  This is the summertime view, Springtime the mountain is green and covered in orange poppies and purple lupine.

The Sanctuary offers their venue to couples looking for an Eco-Friendly location.  All items must be brought in with the exception of restrooms as the sanctuary provides compostable restrooms custom built for each new event.

The “Pole-Tent” being built will provide a bit of seasonal shelter as well as a stunning backdrop for dinner and dancing.  I’m seeing flowing fabrics, chandeliers and dancing under the stars (right under the stars!).

Call me for more information on this location at 805.245.8199.

LOVE Blooms

August 18th, 2011 by admin

So one of my favorite people on the planet married the love of her life, (who just happens to be a handsome cowboy) this April.  Here are my favorite “Done by a friend” florals ever.  Unique, stunning, thoughtful and sweet, full of color, texture and personal touches each and every one.

Raiza & Toby, may your love & marriage bloom!  <3

I love unique display pieces…

Check out these garden caddy boxes, perfect for serving beverages, holding utensil wraps, added to a candy display, for holding wedding favors or even florals would be beautiful.  17 inches long, each compartment is 4×4.  Very vintage and very affordable.

This is one of the best non-season-specific centerpiece ideas I’ve come across.  Leave it to Martha to post this picture of a beautiful baby boxwood in a perfectly appointed bucket as a  summer wedding centerpiece.  Not only eco-friendly and re-purposeful after the wedding by planting it but the green tree can be the stage on which to set your own colors and decor.

I would add twinkle lights for a Holiday or evening wedding (battery operated of course).

For the Groom…

August 3rd, 2011 by admin

One of my Favorite weddings was an outdoor event with the Groom from Texas and the Bride from the Santa Ynez Valley, putting out an old western wagon and lowering the back gate was the perfect location to place a “Cigar Bar” with goodies and favorites of the Bride and Groom for all of the guests to enjoy.  Personalized signage, cutters, custom matches and torch lighters made the details perfect.
